U11's Looking promising at Foxbury

The first festival of the season and a pretty good start to our year, the boys all gave 100% and I am very proud of all of them.

A very close match, with John Wallis inches from scoring in the corner, but OE’s used the slope well and got a lucky bounce to score. We started to put together some good play, Gabriel leading the way with some slick passing and great positioning, and Elliott using his strength and his head (not literally this time) to get us putting a lot of pressure on them.

Try fest for Sidcup in the second half of the game paid of the hard work done in the first half. Once we started to pass the ball the trys came thick and fast. Birthday boy Josh started the scoring with a strong finish, after Sam Brown changed the point of attack with good quick passing, closely followed by trys for (Super) Dan, Draven, Elliott and a hat-trick for the pirouetting whirlwind, Jack Walker.

With 110 boys to choose from,any Sevenoaks team presents a challenge, and today was no different. But what was different today was the commitment and strength the boys showed in defence. Special mention to Draven who pulled of a magnificent try saving tackle and Tommy for leading the defence in the second half meaning we kept them to a respectable 2 trys.

Sidcup 0 Bromley 3
Last up a very strong Bromley team, who had put a lot of trys on the other teams in our group. Again outstanding defence with Jonathan, Tom and Zeka all punching above their weight in the face of some inconsistent refereeing and many, many hand offs. We came very close to getting a try with Luke and Lewis putting in some storming runs.

All in all a good day and we scored more trys than we conceded.
