A RUSTY SIDCUP CAN LEARN A LESSON FROM A WELL OILED BROMLEY MACHINE

Match 1

Sidcup kick off which is short leading to an early scrum, Bromley ball. Scrum won by Bromley despite them having a smaller sized pack. Ball goes out to the Bromley backs, Jamie puts in an early tackle and the ball goes into touch.
The ball is up 15 metres from the Sidcup try line and despite some spirited defense by Sidcup and 5 mins of pressure by the visitors Bromley finally break through for the 1st try of the day.

Shortly after restart Bromley break through again despite a great tackle by Will

After the restart all the action is again in the sidcup half, keeping the hosts under pressure.
Quick ball again gives Bromley another try

Some scrappy work by both sides after the restart ends in a scrum, Sidcup ball. A spell of good attack & defense from both sides sees sidcup 10 metres out from the Bromley try line. A rare spell of play in the bromley half.
Some poor passing & handling gives Bromely an opportunity to steal the ball which they duly convert into a try with a breakaway run

Bromley kick off which is collected by Ted who puts in a great run but gets hustled into touch.
Next we see a scrum won by Sidcup who put in a high kick. The kick goes straight to the bromley full back who runs through to score another try.

A period of weak tackling by Sidcup keeps the hosts under pressure.
Scrum down, Sidcup win & put in a kick which goes straight to Bromley who are always looking a threat.with ball in hand.

Bromley up by the sidcup try line again. Harry L puts in some strong runs to no avail as Bromley convert & run in another try.

A scrum on the center spot won by Bromley and some very loose tackling from Sidcup allows the visitors in for another try

Sidcup restart & Will puts in a good run but yet more poor passing gives Bromley the ball back. Jamie hoovers up a loose ball & puts in a great run closely supported by Ted which is the closest Sidcup have been top a try all day!

Match 3

A great solo run from Jamie, charging & weaving sees him over for the try line for Sidcup' s 1st try of the day!

A period of play ends with Sidcup with ball in hand. Jamie & Ted charge off down the left touchline.

Jamie beats a defender pops to Ted who takes out another, pops back to Jamie who bamboozles a defender and pops back out to Ted who finishes off for an excellent try from Sidcup

Fantastic hands & support work for probably the best try of the day. Well done Ted & Jamie. Lovely teamwork & great to watch!

Jamie puts in a long run but is stopped & poor passing by Sidcup gives Bromley the chance to put another try on the scoreboard which they duly take.

Notable mentions to Harry L for some strong runs a good tackling, Will for the same, Ollie for some strong runs, The lean & mean hooking machine that it George B for some good strong runs (more of the same please George!), Ted who grafted all day & was rewarded with a try, Matthew for some super tackling & Jamie for sticking a few precious points on ther scoreboard. Commiserations to Aaron who got a 'shiner' for his morning out.

Post Match

The customary tunnels then sees the players going in the clubhouse for some food & the obligatory games.

Luca & Ollie voted MOTM's for Sidcup.

Whilst Luca put in an admirable performance it has to be said that Ollie was trailing hopelessly behind. Laughing & gurgling his way through his pint & by the time he got to finish his mars bar...everyone had gone home!!!!!
