Under 13 kent cup final.

SIDCUPS 22 BOYS STOOD ON THE GREEN FIELDS OF THE FLOOD PLAIN AT TONBRIDGE AS THE SUN BROKE THROUGH , IT WAS GOING TO BE A GLORIOUS DAY…. For someone!

Sidcup on of game was finally here the first time the boys had broken the cup barrier and here we are fighting for the cup with Tonbridge judds , tonbridge are quite a unit as we found out earlier in the year , lets see if anything has changed.
We KO and with plenty of vocal support the boys look up for it parity in the forwards and back as the sides start to juggle for position there is little in it this stage , TJs win a ruck and spin the ball wide from the half way and all goes quiet as there quick winger skins our boy and runs in for there first try of the day. With a shiver down the spine this guys quick and I mean quick . we start again and its not long before the balls sees it way wide again but his time the action is cut short and the danger recedes there are a few hustle is the midfield but there is clearly no way through for either side here the sidcup forwards are now coursing all sorts of problems for the TJs side closer and closer coursing them to kick clear but the ball is just going straight back the ball come back to TjS and with a few passes see the ball out wide again and over the sidcup line. The boys look a little rattle and over it goes again 17-0 not looking good .

The sidcup side pass but keep tacking the ball into contact and we are getting isolated the game plan is slipping away but attached we go and from 12 yard out a ball come back and gap open to see jack moor score under the posts , Dan converts the kick.
The boys attached again and for a short while sidcup dominate the game but how much has this taken out of them the half time whistle goes and it’s a time for us to re-group , no not good as I look around the boys are shattered the big players are clearly lacking fitness and the 25min each way will be a struggle, I am greeted by glazed looks as the tackling of the stronger and larger boys of TJs is clearly taking its toll so changes are the order of the day , Alfie comers off so Dan at tight head, and lee on for josh at wing. TJs make some changes too and there pack seams to get bigger??
The second half parity is broken as the constant onslaught of attacks into the sidcup defence eventually brakes and they score there 4 try and 5th.
Dan master and Luke Sheridan go down and are replaced with Christian and levis , will beck on for Fraser and Eoin for Harrison b who is now struggling , this game is now lost as the side is just hanging on at the end , disgrace I think not the TJS side played with great asurity and confidence with grace and power in the right measure , you will struggle to find a better side at this agegroup in the country let alone the county.
So sidcup well done you played with guts and vigour , the score line 37-7 this flattered the side and this game will make TJs think again when playing the sidcup side if they respond to the fitness required to compete against the TJs side the next should be a cracker sidcups man of the match goes to jack moor for his constain work rate thoughout the game from start to finish he was a thorn in the TJs side.

but most of all well done boys at Sidcup who lost the final but won the post match fines games, TJs they don’t like pickled eggs or cream crackers.
