BROMLEY..

BROMLEY ! we have a long history with out neighbours having played them regularly over the past 5 year, a side coached and managed very well in the true spirit of the game. Having been relegated to the Carlton road pitch by some slight errors in the fixture list the two coaches agree on a basic format 2, 20min halves followed by a 10min last fling, with Mr Egan on the whistle we begin.
The sidcup side is lead this week by Brandon Sullivan who’s endeavour and vocal performances at scrum half over the last few weeks has not gone unnoticed with the coaches , the sidcup side start with a strong pack but without the battling Will Whittaker as he carries a injury from a previous performance , sidcup start and Dan Masters kicks to the expectant Bromley forwards , Starting well and with some strong running soon put the sluggish sidcup side under pressure but we hold firm and start to gain ground but the ensuing struggles seam more like a battle of wills as none of the sides gain anything from creative play ,as the sidcup pack finally awake the sidcup back line finally see the ball and use the pitch well , they are now moving the ball left and right and start to run the Bromley back line around and a gap opens to create a break and Sam Connelly showing great support score the first try , in fact the creative lines of Zak Jones and Josh Fenn played the main stay of the breaks in midfield.
The first session over and Sam has now 2 tries with Dan Master converting one from 2 , Dan goes to full back as josh Fenn has a breather and Sam moves to inside centre, and Adam Gorey in at fly half for the first time with changes at front row will beck and Alfie go off and George and Oein come , sol comes off for will in the back row. And will go again the scrum solid and line outs ok, some well worked moves coming off and solid performance from some new boys with langer and James holding on well out wide, Sam brakes in support of Dans run from full back and scores his third out wide. Brandon and Ethan swap at scrum half.
The last session sees only a minor changes and the pressures on with both Harrison’s in the back row the defence is solid and it needs to be with the Bromley coach putting on the big guns for the last session, there back row are strong boys along with the hooker all making ground then the 8 see a speculative run come good as two tackles are missed and his gone another 5 mins later and they have 2 tries in the last session but sidcup hold them out JUST…
Sidcup first away trip of the season comes next week at Sittingbourne.
