Sidcup visited Darts today in this rearranged Kent cup match, for the first time since the beginning of the season with the majority of the squad having recovered from various injuries accrued through the season.
Sidcup took an early lead with the forwards powering over in the corner. Then the teams played a physical game with neither side gaining the upper hand until Darts also went over for a score missing the conversion and at half time the scores were level at 5-5.
The second half followed a very similar pattern to the first and both teams defended gallantly, until Darts scored late on in the corner. 10-5 to Darts, Sidcup regrouped and powered there way up the pitch to level the scores with another powerful forwards try with only minutes to spare, the score remained level and the final whistle was blown, a fair result with both teams having played in the right spirit.
This team has some incredibly brave players and the future of the club is in good hands when this crop of boys move up in the future to firstly the Academy and then Senior rugby at the club.
