Good results continue.......

A good start all the players managed to reset their clocks and arrive on time. Perfect conditions, for the second week running the under 15's have the privilege of paying on the 1st team pitch , captain and vice captain still injured the lads face a tough test against Thurrock who are 3rd in the Essex A league. Two half's with rolling subs is the agreed format, Sarge is in charge with the whistle. After a gentle warm up and some unopposed the boys went back to the changing room for a cuddle and a chat.
The same as last week Sidcup came out firing, receiving kickoff the forwards set and ran two phases before releasing the backs, Ben broke through the centres and shipped the ball, Oli Burgess entered the line from full back to open the scoring in the corner, 5-0.

The kick off is a carbon copy of the opening score again the forwards run two phases the backs again ship the ball but are stopped 1 meter short, from the ruck Sidcup extend their advantage through prop Tom Slater who bulldozes over 10-0.
The 3rd score was much of the same but through more phases of play, both forwards and backs supporting and combining well working through 8 phases before scoring in the corner to make the score 15-0 after 5 minutes.
From here the game either levelled out Sidcup defended very well repelling a strong Thurrock attack, the forwards turned over and lock Jack Green charged, breaking through the defensive line and off loading to scrum half Josh Cryan who stepped two players and arrowed a grubber kick towards the sticks, with the defence floundering and a clear run in the ball refused to pop up, Josh was unlucky to knock on. From the scrum Thurrock mounted their best attack of the day and scored under the posts 15-7...interesting?
The whites again manage to turnover Thurrock ball and launch another attack kicking deep into Thurrock territory, a superb chase from winger Alex forced the cover to fly hack into touch, Cup throw in from the 5 and manage to loose possession, but still score after hooker Miles Sheriff somehow ends up with the ball over the whitewash, first half finishes 20-7.

Sidcup start the second half well again opening the scoring from a solid scrum the backs combine creating an overlap for Dami to canter under the poles 27-7.
From the kick off debutant flanker Alex Newins bursts through numerous tackles and sets a ruck, Josh passes to Benny Hart on a good line out steps the full back and runs in 34 -7.
The next score came through the forwards, rucking deficiencies fixed they rolled through the phases before Oliver Lock barged over the line 41-7.
Thurrock scored next, a well worked try that sucked in the defence before going wide.
The final score belonged to Sidcup, possibly the best try of the day, Thurrock kicked deep Burgess collected, attracted the defence and popped to Henry who passed inside to Ben, defender sucked in the ball was passed to Dami who out stripped the cover to round off a very good display.
All in all a very good performance, the whole squad had good game time, coaches had a few grumbles, much less than normal.
Due to it being Mother's Day Thurrock didn't hang about so boat race didn't happen and debut boy Alex temporarily got away with his welcome to Sidcup.......
The district are dicking about so no training this Wednesday, next weeks oppo have blown out so the next meet is training on Sunday meet at 10:00......only 12 more sleeps till tour!
