The U15's Kent Cup first round match ended in a thumping for Sidcup.
Beaten before a ball was kicked and intimidated by the oppositions reputation Sidcup went into a shell, totally forgot how to ruck, run, pass and tackle it was their worst performance in memory. Only a handful of the starting 15 (and the subs) played to their potential, too many good players mentally did not turn up, they failed to play as a team and as always in rugby got what they deserved.
On a positive note there were glimmers of good, when they did communicate, run hard and straight and play cohesively they managed to score three try's 2 through Spencer Hills and 1 by Joe Elliott which were well worked scores and demonstrated when the teams attitude and desire are right they are capable players with the physical ability to match any team.
Plenty for the coaching team to ponder, a training weekend next before the next KC fixture, Westcombe Park at home.
I'm off to Porkeys for a pint and a plate of pasta!
