Windy conditions made for a tricky match as the Sidcup Under 15's visited Beckenham, aiming to gain revenge after last season's defeat.

The home side's fly half started with the boot early on in an attempt to take advantage of the strong wind. Fortunately for Sidcup his first three attempts all went out on the full, this seemed to knock his confidence and reduced the attempts for the rest of the half.

Sidcup kept the ball in hand and slowly began to get on top with Samuel Foster and Kieran Moore linking up well on the right wing. Bobby Williams and Conor Coakley both making good ground well supported by James Large.
The first score came after James Qureshi made a break and found Connor Potter in support, a well timed pass out to the wing found Kieran Moore who committed the defending full back and made a great one handed offloaded back inside for Connor to score. A difficult conversion into the wind was missed to make it 0-5.

It looked like the score would be increased after the ball was well won by Ben Stock and as Sam Leek passed left to Connor Potter the referee called a forward pass which from the touchline looked flat at worst.

Beckenham then began to take some control of the game by playing some basic pick and go forwards rugby. Sidcup defended well in their own 22 but the pressure told eventually as the ball was touched down next to the posts. the simple conversion was chipped over and the home side held the lead at half time 7-5.

The second half started well as Sam Leek kicked well to gain some territory, using the wind to better effect then his opposite number. Direct running from Toby Amos and Laurence Cooper plus a good attack from Stephen Orford gave the feeling that a score would soon come.
With a scrum in the Beckenham 22 the score came, a simple ball was passed out to fly half Sam Leek who ran in near the posts to leave Samuel Foster an easy conversion to recover the lead at 7-12.

A few minutes later the lead was increased as the wind played havoc causing another line out to be called not straight. Sidcup chose a scrum and in a copy of the previous score Sam Leek scored his second of the day, another simple kick and the score moved on to 7-19.

With the home side unable to get out of their own half Sidcup continued to apply the pressure and were soon rewarded after some excellent support play. The backs linked together as the two wingers Connor Potter and Kieran Moore combined to make the ground and Sam Leek was on hand to cross for his hat trick, a good conversion made it 7-26.

There was still time for one more score, and as Beckenham attempted to kick clear Ben Stock caught and returned well. Scott Humphryes took hold of the ball and outpaced the defence to run down the line and score in the left corner.
Samuel Foster made a great conversion and thankfully kicked the ball better than the attempt to kick his scrum hat out of the way!

The referee blew for time with the final score at 7-33 for a convincing win and an extension to the teams unbeaten start to the season. Another full team performance with Connor Potter narrowly gaining the man of the match award, Sam Leek with his 3 tries whilst playing out of position and Samuel Foster running him very close indeed.

Another away trip is next for the lads as they can look forward to a tough and physical game against Beccehamians who have been improving every season.

You can do it lads, keep up the intensity.
