The wins keep coming for the U15's as revenge is exacted at Maidstone.

Maidstone U15s 0 vs. Sidcup U15s 83

After two opening wins against tough opposition the Sidcup Under 15s went into their match against Maidstone aiming to gain revenge for defeat a year ago.

The game started scrappily with some unimpressive play in the midfield, Maidstone gaining slight advantage with their larger pack.
It took only a few minutes however for Sidcup to open their account for the day. Winning a scrum against the head the ball was whipped out to the backs and Sam Leek ran through to score under the posts. Ben Stock converting to give the lads an early 0-7 lead.

Maidstone then kicked well to gain territory but the ball was run well out of defence by Ryan Churchill.
James Large linked well with the backs to make an attacking run, only to be stopped by a strong tackle from the full back.

Again the hosts kicked to get into the Sidcup 22 and began to dominate. The defence held firm as Maidstone came at them time and again. Despite the continued pressure no score came and eventually a penalty was conceded, allowing Sidcup to clear their lines.

Sidcup increased their lead as James Qureshi pounced on a loose ball to gain possesion, driving runs from Chris King, Connor Coakley and Bobby Williams gained valuable ground. The ball was switched out to the backs and Robbie Smith released Kieran Moore to score in the left corner and make it 0-12.

Shortly after, the score increased as Scott Humphryes took a quick tap penalty, Cameron Batney drove on into the 22 and Robbie Smith finished off on the right. Stocky kicking well again and it was 0-19.

Maidstone continued to give 100% and should have had a score of their own. A clever penalty with the Sidcup defence expecting a crash ball opened up for the home backs, an unfortunate knock on 2 yards from the line ensured the score remained unchanged.

As the home team number 9 was allowed to blatantly feed another scrum he got his come uppence. Scott Humphryes making his presence felt with a tackle in the manner of a meerkat who has had his baby scorpion taken from him!
With a scrum won for the knock on the backs once more displayed safe hands as Kieran Moore ran in his second try of the day tight in the left corner. Ben Stock's imppressive kicking display continued as he slotted another to make the score 0-26 at half time.

The second half started well for Sidcup as Bobby Williams went on the attack and offloaded well to Kieran Moore...looking like a hattrick was on he was thwarted by the Maidstone full back who was having an outstanding game.
The inevitable was only delayed however as quick ball was fed out to the right and Vlad Riamzinas supported well to dive over. Another conversion increased the lead to 0-33.

The hosts could sense the match was lost but continued to battle and forced their way into the Sidcup 22. Again there was no way through and Sidcup gathered the ball after a penalty was awarded for offside.
Rather than kick for touch the ball was tapped and Ben Stock attacked, his pass was perfectly timed and Sam Leek ran in his second score of the day as the defence drifted too far, allowing a gap to open. With the kick slotted again the score moved on to 0-40.

Sidcup made a batch of substitutions, unfortunately for Maidstone the players coming on were just as strong and hungry for action as those departing.
There was immediate impact from the restart as Samuel Foster caught and drove forward, Charley Smith and Laurence Cooper continued to drive on. New lad Toby Amos almost scored in the right corner, but was thwarted by some good defence.
Robbie Smith was on hand to go over for his second try of the day, leaving a simple kick to make it 0-47.

This really was too much for Maidstone as their heads finally dropped and the fight disappeared from them.
Further scores came as Vlad made a strong run through the defence for his second try, Robbie was next as he scored his hattrick after some clever play from Jake Davis (having his most confident game at 10).

Toby Amos then got his first try for Sidcup as Scott Humphryes battled through a number of tackles to offload for Toby to force over in the right corner.
Due to an injury our lads had to re-shuffle but this did not affect the dominance and Samuel Foster scored after a nice maul drove him over the line. I've been assured by some players that this was a pre-meditated move!

Kieran Moore finished well for his hattrick and Ben Stock would have made yet another conversion...though he seemed slightly distracted by the loud shout of 'GO ON BEN' from the touchline....Not sure who that was...Jim!!
The final score of the day went to Samuel Foster as he forced over near the posts to give an easy kick to Ben to finish the game and leave the scoreboard displaying 0-83.

An amount of credit should be given to Maidstone for competing for the majority of the match despite the increasing scoreline. Their full back also having a great game, made a number of tackles that stopped the score being more.

It's an almost impossible task to mention the boys who stood out in a game like this when they once again, all performed well.

Ben Stock made the link between forwards and back so effective that he allowed all those around him to excel. With that and an excellent display of kicking he was rightly awarded the man of the match award.

My own special mention for the day goes to a player reknowned for his tight shorts.
With a speedy back off on another marauding run it looked like the ball would be lost in the tackle. However, as he turned and popped the ball up Callum Morton was in support displaying the sort of speed and fitness that would have not been possible a couple of seasons ago. This is a credit to the work and effort that he continues to put in during matches and training.

So, the unbeaten run continues and a visit to local rivals Dartfordians beckons next week....can the lads make it 4 in a row?

COME ON SIDCUP!!!!
