Orpington go looking for a scalp (literally) with the ref in no mood to give out early christmas cards.... By Tom Dunster

Unlike 3xv normality, the lads started the game at lightning pace making several line breaks from the kick off and applying huge pressure to Orpington in the first few minutes and dominating at the break down

An Orpington player clearly annoyed tries to RKO Dan Wakefield in a pathetic attempt to clear him out of the ruck which resulted in an accidental knock to the head via a collision with another Sidcup player this was to be the end of his afternoon.

Staying true to the new 3xv found form they produced some great handling skills down the line and Harry Wilford breaks through to score even under the pressure of a high tackle, Callum misses the conversion 0:5

Strong carries from Joel Leighton, George Osborne and Chris neal set the platform for Callum to kick for the corner. The formidable 3xv lineout works a treat, setting down and driving over the line with Maz dotting down, Callum slots 0:12.

From the restart Harry Wilford like a man possessed runs it's back to there 22 but accidently steps into touch as he was destined to go the full length and score. The ball was quickly returned up field to Sidcup with Teddy Bevan collecting it just to be on the receiving end of a vicious high tackle.

The two early scores clearly frustrating Orpington and the element of rugby begins to disappear from the game. The "granny smasher" receives a cheeky jab whilst laying on the floor and quickly gets to his feet to adjust the gentleman's attitude with and unlikely calming influence of Sam Foster stepping in to defuse the situation, a penalty bizarrely given against Sidcup.

Yet again Teddy scoops up and gets hammered with another high tackle, surely a card must come out..... not to be, they must have been left in the changing room.

Sidcup work there way back down to the orpington half and eventually win a scrum, Scott Humphreys nicks the ball out the back and goes over, Callum slots 0:19.

Second half gets underway and immediately comes the 4th high tackle of the game on Max Drysdale and still no yellow card is shown.

The formidable lineout strikes again driving forward and eventually passed out the back to Chris Neal who scores, Callum slots 0:26. With Callums kicking success clearly clouding his judgement, he leaps over two opposing players at the ruck to land on top of the scrumhalf only to receive a Yellow, the mystical card finally makes an appearance.

With multiple substitutions taking place in quick succession through injury, the structure is disrupted and the Sidcup standards slip, giving away three penalties in as many minutes. Orpington took the opportunity to capitalise from a scrum 5m out and convert.

The 5th and 6th high tackles of the game quickly followed on Rashid and Max Drysdale causing mass debate on the sideline as to why these infringements have not been punished.

Rashid not willing to back down makes great line break deep into the Orpington 22, however finds himself outnumbered and manages to throw the ball back to the halfway line.

Some great lines by Joel, and Joe holsgrove gains us territory only for Callum to receive the ball and carry like a monster into post however knocks the ball on.

7th high tackle and still no yellow card, it's amazing Teddy Bevan's head is still attached to his shoulders

With the final whistle blowing 7:26, there was relief from all that the game was over. It wasn't a pretty win but grit and determination managed to get the job done.

MOM: SCOTT HUMPHREYS admirable mentions Joel Leighton, George Osborne and Harry Wilford.
