London 1 South Champions

By Ian Anderson

Sidcup RFC secure league title and promotion with three games to spare

With the 31 - 19 bonus point win at Maidstone, Sidcup secured the London 1 South league title and with it promotion to National League 3. With three games of the season still to play, Havant in second place cannot now catch Sidcup but are well placed to secure the promotion play-off place.

After several seasons finishing in the top three or four in the division, Sidcup have remained undefeated so far this season and have taken full points in twenty of twenty-three matches. All the stats in the division support Sidcup's claim to the title - most points for, least points against and therefore best point difference.

National 3 will be a stern test for the team but is a challenge that will be relished by eveybody at the club.
