So a rather breezy Cranbrook festival - thanks to all the squad (and families) who made the trek down there; Jack, Tom, Sam, Jamie, Elliott, Spencer, John, Taylor, James and Billy - well done to all of you for coming down and representing the club so admirably.
Must say get well soon to Frank and Gabriel, who both missed today ill. Hopefully see you back next week (along with any of you who maybe were away for half term, or who just fancied a lie in today ?!!)
So onto the rugby....unfortunately one of today's opponents Crowborough didn't show - so we ended up playing Ashford 1's and Cranbrook 3'd, twice each....every game was only decided by a single try....and if I remember correctly....
SRFC 9 vs. Ashford 9
SRFC 7 vs. Cranbrook 8
SRFC 8 vs. Ashford 7
SRFC 7 vs. Cranbrook 8
so we finished 2nd in our little group...and went on to play Ashford again in the 'consolation final'....remarkably again decided by a single try in favour of Sidcup.
Some excellent performances today, special mention to the new boys, Spencer, Billy and in particular Elliott - who's barnstorming runs bode well for the rest of the season, and next !! Also to James for a great try in the corner and to John for a ferocious tagging display in 1 game where he got 5 in a row.....but man of the day today - scored about a dozen tries and played the best he has all season - Tom Brown, well done Tom.
