Experience and control conquer over youth , fitness , organisation and general enthusiasm !!

In what i am starting to realise is a difficult league sidcup mighty 3's entered the fray against the current league leaders ,be it on points difference over sidcup . Seeing that both sides were currently unbeaten in the league this was always likely to be a tough fought battle and as expected a well drilled folkestone 2's turned up .
With sidcups intrepid leader winning the toss the super 3's decided to attack uphill against the wind with the sun in their eyes in the first half , trusting that their superior fitness would come through in the second half . In this situation it is always the sides intention to keep as much possession as possible and keep the opposition quiet !!!
This however went tragically wrong with an immediate cock up receiving kick off and the ensuing play resulted in a folkestone penalty which was calmly taken giving the away team a 3-0 lead in under a minute . The rest of the first half was unproductive with folkestone having the lions share of territory and possession and only thanks to the grit and determination of the intrepid 3's did the folkestone side enter into half time only 3 points up . This was obviously assisted by the ever dominant sidcup scrum who managed to turn the scrum at will thus gaining possession !
Just before the halftime break sidcup were unlucky enough to lose previous 3's captain Matteo Stamato to a fractured collarbone , chipped bone and damaged ac joint . We all wish him the very speediest recovery and hope that he doesn't get in to much trouble with his mother over this incident !
As the second half began a totally new spin was put on the match with the sidcup side dominating from the off . Smart play from the sidcup side saw the home team gain absolute territorial advantage which resulted in the inevitable tries from Tom Page and Chris Neal . It seemed amazing that with ten minutes to play the away team still had 15 on the pitch , but they were not the ones that had to worry as with 4 minutes to play after a string of silly penalties and some blatantly pathetic cheating from a folkestone side that knew they were no match for sidcups mighty 3's sidcup lost a man to the bin . Not only did they lose a man but they lost a giant in physique and in spirit . Sidcups fearless leader trudged off the pitch not for the classic early shower , but for an early fag break .Through folkestone's distasteful play they managed to score a late try giving them a well needed bonus point . One particular folkestone player could not handle the defeat and refused to shake hands or go through the traditional tunnel of good will , I do hope that if the mighty 3's do lose a game this year we can be much bigger men and give the winners the respect that they deserve I( But to be fair this seems unlikely ) !!!
Sidcup 3's have a well deserved rest week for our aging bones but i hope all of our supporters might watch another sidcup team and give them their support i'm sure they will be nearly as entertaining !!!
