Alan was a player in the mid 1960’s, then a referee and subsequently Sidcup RFC Secretary and then President from 1986 – 1989. Sidcup RFC was his lifelong passion. Even while he was in the care home, Alan would call his nephew Mike every weekend to ask him to go online to get the latest matchday results. He was a kind and gentle man.
