Malcolm "Lemmy" Leamon joined Sidcup RFC from Thames Poly in the early 1960s. He was renowned for being a great competitor on the pitch playing over 200 games for the first team during an era when Sidcup were viewed as the team to beat.

He continued to play in the lower teams skippering many of them making many friends along the way. He eventually ended his playing career for a very social vets team.

He went on to coach the first team at Sidcup and his training sessions quickly got the reputation for being rather demanding. All those who experienced the press up and 'character building' runs...and there are many...will understand.

He took his coaching expertise to the colts and over a number of years developed many players who went on to make significant contributions to the first team and the wider club. The stories of Sidcup Colts tours remain infamous and will not be forgotten by all those who were involved.

In his later years he took on admin jobs and was the Fixture Secretary for many years. However you would most likely see him on the touch line watching his two sons Martin and Richard playing for the first team....something that gave him both great pride and pleasure.

He was fortunate enough to see his grandsons pull on the white shirt for the mini rugby teams and continued to watch the first team at every opportunity.

A great friend and servant the of the club. Your presence and smile will be missed by all.

Thanks for the memories.
