Mini's Rugby

Training for the 2009/10 mini rugby season at Sidcup RFC started on Sunday 6th September 2009. Anybody thinking of joining for the first time is welcome to come along and watch or join in but you may also like to contact Richard Cato, Director of Youth Rugby (doyr@sidcuprfc.co.uk) or Andy Innes, the section Chairman (minichair@sidcuprfc.co.uk), if you have any questions you would like answered in advance.

Sidcup RFC minis welcome boys and girls from age 5 years to 12 years. The practical lower age limit is 6 although well co-ordinated rising 5s would not be turned away. Under 6s are unable to play in competitive games for insurance reasons.

Mini rugby is designed to introduce new elements of the game at each age group in order that players can progress towards the 15 a-side game.

Under-7 Non-contact tag-rugby
Under-8 Non-contact tag-rugby
Under-9 Introduces tackling, unopposed scrums and line outs
Under-10 Introduces opposed scrums and line outs
Under-11 Introduces kicking
Under-12 Consolidates the under-11 game

Sundays 10.00am till 12:00

Who can Play?

Any boy or girl under 12 years of age. Children must play in their relevant age group. The determining date for age groups is midnight on 31st August 2009.
